CourtConnect
Quick Start

How to Use CourtConnect

Everything below takes about two minutes the first time. There is nothing to install, no account to create, and no setup to save — you can open the site at the venue and be running matches before everyone has finished warming up.

Running your first session

1

Set your courts

Choose how many courts you're running. You can rename them to match your venue — "Main Court", "Court A", whatever your group already calls them — so announcements match reality. Courts can be added or removed at any point if a neighbouring court frees up.

2

Add your players

Type names as people arrive and set each player's skill level from 1 to 5. Got a big group already? Use Add Multiple and paste the whole list at once. If you're not sure what level to give someone, the skill levels guide explains what each one looks like on court.

3

Mark who's ready

Toggle Ready for anyone who is on site and wants to play. Players who aren't ready are skipped by the rotation entirely — useful for someone taking a break, sitting out an injury, or still lacing up. Flip them back on whenever they're good to go.

4

Generate matches

One tap fills every free court. Teams are balanced using each player's level, and the rotation prioritises whoever has been waiting longest while avoiding repeat partners and repeat opponents. You can always swap a player manually before the match starts if you want a different mix.

5

Start and play

Hit Start Match to run the timer on that court. Need to pause for a ball on court or a quick break? Tap Pause and the clock stops until you resume, so game lengths stay honest.

6

Call the winner

Tap Finish, enter the scores if you're tracking them (entirely optional), and pick the winning team. Records, win rates, streaks, and point differentials all update immediately. Scores are free-form, so games to 11, 15, 21, or timed games all work.

7

Keep it rolling

As courts free up, the next group is already decided and shown on the Next Up card — that exact lineup drops onto the court, so there are no surprises. Latecomers join the back of the queue when you mark them ready, and nobody sits out longer than their turn.

8

Go live optional

Create a Spectator Room and share the six-character code or QR code. Anyone who opens it sees live matches, the waiting queue, who's up next, and recent results — updating in real time, with no login and no app. It removes every "am I next?" question for the rest of the session.

Playing in DUPR mode?

Exactly the same flow — you just enter each player's official DUPR rating instead of a 1–5 skill level, and teams are balanced on those real ratings. Players without a rating can be marked NR and are handled gracefully.

Handy things worth knowing

If something goes wrong

Your session saves continuously, so a dropped connection or a locked phone won't lose it. If buttons ever stop responding after you come back online, refreshing the page restores the current state — nothing is lost.

That's the whole thing

Open the site at your next session and work down the list. If you get stuck, the FAQ covers the common questions.
